Who we are:

Evolution Money Ltd, Progressive Money Ltd and Evolution Lending Ltd are all wholly owned subsidiaries of Evolution Money Group (‘the Group’, ‘us’, ‘we’).
Evolution Money is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (708324) as a credit broker and service provider for Evolution Lending Limited, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (709488) ‘the Lender’.

 

Progressive Money Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (690699) as a direct lender and licensed credit broker.

How we control, process, and protect your data:

We take your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to:

 

A) Provide you with the products and services you have requested.
B) Manage your agreement if you take out a loan with us and become our customer
C) Adhere to regulatory and legal requirements

 

We hold and process your personal data in accordance with Data Protection law in the UK.

 

We are committed to maintaining the privacy, protection and security of all personal data collected in connection with our broker and loan services, your information is stored electronically within our secure network, your information is segregated to reduce risk, access controlled, and our systems are continually backed up to ensure integrity and security.

Why and what information we collect:

When you enquire, apply for, and/ or successfully take out loan with us, we collect information about you. This information is used to assess your creditworthiness and whether our loan is suitable, affordable, and sustainable now and throughout the term of your agreement with us, to provide the service you have requested, to satisfy our legal and regulatory requirements and to prevent fraud and money laundering. We may also use the information to trace and recover any debts.

 

We will either offer you a loan or tell you why you have been declined. If you take out a loan with us it will help us manage and maintain your agreement.
When collecting data from you we do this via telephone, electronically, post and/or email.

 

If you apply or enquire online you will be subject to some automated decision making based on criteria - such as your age, residential status and credit score – to make sure we are able to offer you a loan or service. If your online application or enquiry is declined, you can contact us by telephone to have the decision reconsidered.

 

If your enquiry has been referred to us by a third party such as a broker, and your loan is successful a fee will be paid to them for referring you to us, the amount will be detailed within your agreement documents.

 

The information we will collect, but may not be limited to:

6 years from the date of settlement of your agreement for funded agreements.

We will also collect information about you from outside sources such as credit reference agencies (“CRAs”) e.g. Transunion, Experian and Equifax.

 

Information provided by the CRAs may also contain information about people you are associated with or who live at the same address as the one you have provided.

We use these agencies to confirm your identity, including searching the electoral roll and we obtain your credit report to offer our services and the ongoing management of your agreement with us. Consent 12-36 months in line with our regulatory requirements unless required by law to retain longer for non-Funded applications.

 

6 years from the date of settlement of your agreement for funded agreements.

(Where applicable) Special Category Data – In some situations, we may collect sensitive information about you, or other individuals associated with you, this sensitive information is classed as ‘special category data’ such as your health or change in circumstance. To offer our services where this is considered relevant to the application and the ongoing management of your agreement with us. Consent 12-36 months for non-Funded applications.

Or until consent is withdrawn in line with our legal and regulatory requirements.

Who might we share your data with?

As part of our application process, ongoing management of your agreement, legal and regulatory requirements we may need to share your information with other parties:

For the purpose of application progression and on-going communication and management of your agreement with us. Application / Agreement information and voice recordings Consent The Evolution Money app is provided by an external provider Nivo, you consent to using their platform in order to use this service, though Evolution acts as the data controller, we control and process your data in accordance with the our internal retention timescales detailed below, you may have to create a Nivo identify in order to use the application, therefore we recommend you read their end user privacy policy before you consent to using the app.

 

Email services is provided by whomever your email provider is and therefore we have no control on how long they retain information you share using their services however we can confirm we retain where possible emails sent and received from your data in accordance with our internal retention timescales detailed below.

-The status and management of any new applications or ongoing management agreements for credit you make

-For the prevention of fraud and criminal acts.

-When CRAs receive a search from us they will place a search footprint on your credit file that may be seen by other lenders

We share your application / agreement information with credit reference agencies (“CRAs”).:

If your application is successful, we will continue to exchange information about your loan agreement with CRAs while you have a relationship with us. If the loan is not repaid in full and on time, CRAs will record the outstanding debt. This information may be supplied to other organisations by CRAs.

Externally hosted systems & services We are the data controller and processor, however from time to time we may need use third party systems / service providers to enable us to fulfil your needs, what this means is, we are still in control of your data, however we are using another platform to store / manage or administer this service, for example the our telephone and recording system , if we do this, we ensure the service provider is within the UK and subject to Data Protection laws and GDPR regulations or they are based outside of the UK we ensure they abide by the UKs Data Protection laws and GDPR regulations. We use cookies and tracking pixels and share data with Google and Meta to support advertising and audience targeting. To show relevant ads, exclude existing customers and create similar audience groups. Website behaviour data collected via cookies and tracking pixels, and anonymised email addresses used for audience creation. Legitimate interests. Uploaded data is deleted by the platform after matching. We do not retain this data after use.
Group companies, other brokers, lenders or third parties, whom may be able to provide you a better or alternative options. As responsible lender, if we are unable to satisfy your enquiry, we may, with your consent, share your information with other companies within the Group, other brokers, lenders or third parties, whom may be able to provide you a better or alternative options. We may now, or in the future use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies Enhance our services and improve your experience using AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants to provide you with quick and efficient customer support to answer your queries, provide information, and assist with your loan application and/or the management of your loan once funded.

 

Assess your loan application, such as AI algorithms help us evaluate your creditworthiness by analysing various data points, including your credit history, financial behaviour, and other relevant information.

 

Monitor transactions and activities to identify and prevent fraudulent activities. These systems analyse patterns and anomalies to protect your account and personal information.

Application / Agreement information We ensure that only necessary data is processed by our AI systems. Your personal data is anonymized or pseudonymized wherever possible to protect your privacy We are committed to being transparent about how your data is used. If you require, we will provide you with meaningful information about what data is being processed and for what purpose. How long do we keep hold of your information?

How long we keep your information for depends on the basis on which it was provided and your application status. For example, If you take out a loan with us and become our customer, we will keep your data for 6 years from the satisfaction date of the loan.

 

Detailed in the tables within ‘Why and what information we collect’ and ‘Who might we share your data with’ ‘Retention of Data’ section, this details how long we will retain your data for but simply put, we will keep the information that is necessary to enable us to provide you with a service that you have requested for as long as it takes us to provide that service, to comply with the law, regulations, or where there is appropriate and legitimate business need.

 

For any marketing purposes which you consented to, we shall keep your information no longer than it is necessary to comply with this objective. If you have asked that we do not use your details for marketing purposes, we may still need to keep them to ensure our systems reflect your preferences.

Marketing

If applicable, and where there has been legitimate interest shown, we may - with your consent, contact you by email, SMS, post or telephone with information about other products or services which may be of interest to you.

 

These communications may be from us or other members of the ‘Group’. They may also be from other organisations offering financial or other products and services we think may be of interest to you. We will only share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes where you have given your express consent to do so.

What are your rights?

Access your data we hold - You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you at any time. You can request this information via telephone, post or by email using the details provided in the ‘Contact us’ section.

 

Corrections - You can contact us if you have any reason to believe the data we hold on you is inaccurate. You may review, correct, update or change your personal information at any time by contacting us.

 

Data Portability - In some circumstances you have the right to ask for your personal data to be provided in a machine-readable format. The data processed by the Group that is subject to portability rights are:

The portable data relates to the fields populated by you through completing enquiry forms or applications. You should note that information obtained from your credit file held by the CRAs is not covered by this portability right.

 

If you request it, we may transmit the data directly to another organisation, where this is feasible. We are not required however, to adopt or maintain processing systems that are technically compatible with other organisations.

 

Data Deletion – Also known as the right to be forgotten, however, this is not an absolute right and applicable only in circumstances where it does impact our legitimate reasons (agreement management) or our legal and regulatory requirements.

 

Our Rights and Timescales - There is no charge for providing this information and we will respond within 1 calendar month of receiving your request, but it may take us a further 2 months to supply your personal data if your request is complex.

 

We may have the right the right to redact / refuse If the personal data concerns more than one individual as we must consider whether providing the information would prejudice the rights of any other individual, or we believe the request is unfounded or excessive.

CRAs keep a wide range of information. This includes information from the electoral roll (sometimes known as the voter’s roll) and records of most county court judgements and bankruptcies. They also retain information relating to previous and existing credit and a record of searches made against the file. Lenders share information through the CRAs providing a history of how punctually payments are being made or have been made. Loan information is usually held on file for 6 years once settled. Details of the electoral roll may be held for much longer.

 

Information about credit searches may be for kept for 12 months.

 

The Information Commissioner provides a useful leaflet which explains how to request changes to your credit reference file.
